4x4 Off-Road Training
Driving a 4×4 vehicle off-road requires ability and skill, especially if driving off-road is part of your everyday working life.
Course Aim:
Driving a 4×4 vehicle off-road requires ability and skill, especially if driving off-road is part of your everyday working life. This training course will provide you with experienced instructors who will guide and advise you throughout the course, ensuring that the key fundamentals of 4×4 vehicle driving are covered. Once the course has been completed and passed you will gain a Certificate of Competence in professional 4×4 off-road driving.
Course Requirements:
This course is for the off-road driver who operates 4×4 vehicles and who wants to gain recognised certification for it. You must hold a current driving licence and be able to demonstrate that you are a competent driver.
Course Outline:
- Health & safety
- Vehicle preparation
- Tyre selection
- Gearbox types
- Appropriate use of 4 x 4 vehicle
- Pre-op checks
- Tyre condition
- Practical driving including low gear ratio driving
- Climbing and descending steep gradients
- Traversing Embankments etc.
The course is delivered through a combination of theory-based tutorials and practical training.
Course Duration:
The course is a half day duration for 1 or 2 attendees or a full day for up to 4 attendees (2 separate sessions).
Training Location:
Please note that the customer supplies the vehicle, which must be a 4 x 4 with a low ratio gearbox, and that as training takes place on an off-road track there are extremely limited facilities.
Instruction and Certification:
All instruction and certification are conducted by accredited instructors who are qualified as such in their respective disciplines. Once the course has been completed and passed you will gain a Certificate of Competence in professional 4×4 off-road driving.
